Prof. Esias E. Meyer is an Associate Professor at the University of Pretoria in the Department of Old Testament and Hebrew Scriptures. He holds a D.Th. in Old Testament Studies from Stellenbosch University. He started lecturing at UP in 2010, and before that he was a minister in a reformed congregation near Cape Town. His research is focused on Leviticus and the Pentateuch. He is the author of The Jubilee in Leviticus 25: A Theological Ethical Interpretation from a South African Perspective (2005).
